LH loves rules. Last time I flew them they wouldn't let me switch to an earlier intra-Europe short hop connecting to the last flight of the day back to the US, even though my later flight was already showing a delay and the earlier flight left with empty seats.

They'd rather force a misconnect and overnight than allow a *G pax to fly standby.

Fortunately I barely made the connections due to a GS escort at the connecting airport.
