I'm aware CX and BA have an interlining agreement, but wonder how far out is allowed in terms of positioning?

Flying CDG-SYD on CX, so will most likely position from LHR the night before to ensure some buffer (CDG-HKG departs and 1215). Can I check bags through despite what will likely be 24hrs before the next leg?
