I agree with TXJeepGuy -- I've found that if I use the app to check-in -- 9/10 I'll get exactly what I booked and the 1/10 chance that I'll actually end up with something even worse despite my status (which just ends up having me visit the front desk anyways). I just check-in at the elite desk when I arrive and forget about using the app except for mobile key later on or to ask for something over chat.
