Hotel: Conrad Tokyo
Room Booked: Bay view king
Early Check-in: Didn't use
Late Checkout: Offered 4pm, but checked out at 230pm
Upgrade: Upgraded to Bay view suite
Amenity: Used most of the $125 credit for in-room dining (curry, bento, etc), breakfast included (can choose from 3 western and 1 Japanese options). Not sure if this is part of the FHR amenity, but a staff delivered a nice Yokan and Chocolate to my room after check in.
Comment: Stayed there for 3 days of workation. Upgrade to a suite was a nice surprise. Saw many signs of wear in the room but those were acceptable since my standard is low. Visit to the Hamarikyu right in front of the hotel was nice, and enjoyed uninterrupted jogging to/from Toyosu/Tsukishima area along the Sumida river (you need to start at a corner of Hamarikyu as there are a few traffic signs to cross before that). I am still COVID averse and also felt not fitting in those well-dressed fancy people (typical of high-end hotels in Japan), so ended up having all meals in the room, which was nice with the nice view of Hamarikyu, Rainbow bridge, aircraft landing in HND (miss old days of circling approach to 16L), and high-rise buildings. One thing I did not like is the long runway in front of the checkin/out counters which you have to take to enter/exit the hotel crossing many staffs' lines of sight. Overall, I really enjoyed the stay, and would definitely visit again unless price goes up significantly after tourists start flowing into Japan.
