I'll have to definitely post an update in about 3 weeks if I make it through or get deported. J-GA did give me an their official letterhead though that has their company name on my itinerary, flight, and lodging.
I wanted to collect general experiences for all short-term stay visas. One school of thought in the ERFS thread is that once you have a visa, that is all the airline/immigration officer needs to see and you're home free. If others can corroborate this experience, it would give us JGA folks peace of mind.

However if the airline/immigration officer is requiring lots of additional information such as itineraries and letters of invitation (for tourist visas), conference booking details or meeting details (for business visas), or family registers/invitation letters (for family visas), the we should prepare those documents accordingly before we leave!
