Got back from a 5 night stay on 220,000 points. Still high season in Japan, and paid rates (for four) were around ¥60,000 for regular rooms in the Main Tower and ¥150,000 for South Tower.

Check-in was a bit slow and they handed me a bilingual list of Bonvoy Elite benefits but didn't explain much. They then said I would be charged ¥24,000 a night for two extra beds. I said the beds weren't necessary and they got confused and told me they were already in the room. In the end they left them there the first night, then took the sheets away for nights 3 and 4 (beds actually stayed in room-one was a trundle, one a sofa). We were "upgraded" to a high floor deluxe which had a nice view but wasn't all that big (32sqm, like 80% of the rooms in the main building), so a bit disappointing.

There was no "thank you Mr Titanium, what gift would you like?" question. I automatically got 1,000 points plus two small boxes of beniimo snacks (in room already).

On the second day I checked the app and then requested an upgrade to the South Tower. They said it would be possible for nights 4&5. Those rooms were fitted for 4 without extra charge, and the minibar comes stocked with about 8 drinks (no restocking). Also free soft drinks in entranceway lounge. South Tower rooms are practically new (2020), huge and really nice. There are also a lot of USB ports, unlike the older main tower. One weird thing was the room door was very hard to open at times due to wind/air pressure. On the plus side the room was very quiet.

Happy hour at the Sunset bar was a madhouse the first few days as hotel was at full capacity. Cheap wine and spirits, draft beer and soft drinks. No food. The last couple days it was fairly relaxing.
The JCB lounge looked like what I normally experience at a Sheraton/Marriott/Westin.

The two big benefits of Plat+ status are free breakfast for all guests in room, and resort passes. The breakfast was quite good, though the first two days were had to leave due to a diving course and only had time for a coffee and bagging some bread to go. There is free parking for elites, and ambassadors get special reserved parking closer to the entrance.

The resort pass means you get beach umbrellas/towels/chairs/indoor&outdoor pool/paddle boats and kayaks, all for free. Odd rules about beach usage mean you can use goggles to look at fish, but if you have a snorkel you must have a life vest (¥500/day). There are a fair number of nice fish there. Restrictions on kayaks mean you can't go very far.

Pools were madhouses most of the time. So many little kids. Water was quite warm, over 30C I think. Zipline was also busy all day long. The gym is small but decent and has a great view of the beach. There is also a very popular large public bath and sauna. Segregated by sex, though don't be surprised if you see a few girls (up to age 6) with their fathers and brothers.

We chose the eco plan and got ¥2,000/day for three days of no service. We wanted to book The Grill, but it was full every day so we could only do Senses buffet.

It is really a family-friendly hotel, and the target age for kids is probably 6-12. There is free table tennis and a pool table, and paid activities like painting.

A fortune can be spent on extras like banana boats/water skis/ziplines etc. We had a car and made roadtrips all over the middle and northern part of the island.

I am basically happy with the stay, but I am not sure if I would stay again unless it was off-season and fewer total points and a guaranteed South Tower room.
