Or in other words: Are "mileage run" routings possible on LH?
I know that in the US, many people seem to do "mileage runs".
If I understand it correctly, and I am not sure at all, one rule is that you can have more segments for a similar price, as long as you do not exceed a certain maximum mileage that is set between two cities.
Now I know that this is not attractive to do with LH's earning scheme in economy nowadays - but my question is rather...what are the rules for having more segments in discounted economy?
The reason that I am asking is that I might want to go from, let's say, Munich to Berlin, but I would like to go, instead of going directly, through Frankfurt (stay shorter than 24 hours) because I might want to visit someone in Frankfurt on the way.
And on the way back, I might want to go through Düsseldorf (stay shorter than 24 hours).
I have seen similar routings for very cheap tickets... automatically through the website... check again.
Would it be possible to book MUC-xFRA-TXL-xDUS-MUC for a similar price as just straight MUC-TXL-MUC?
And if not, would it make any difference if it was a business class ticket, as opposed to just a (discounted) economy ticket?
Thanks for your advice!
