Last time I did this was maybe ten years ago. Cant remember the details but at the time my united status was honored on Lufthansa and I got some free upgrades and was treated well. This time I couldn't even enter my united details and was notified to contact the Lufthansa contact center to add them.

Any tips? Did I book this the wrong way? I paid for it with my united card if that matters...
just to keep expectations in check, while your status will be honored when you get your number in the booking, keep your expectations in check. LH doesn’t upgrade even their own elites unless it’s for an operational need, so don’t count on that again. LH, like most of the EU-based legacies, even makes you pay for seat selection unless you are on a higher fare class, and no elites get a pass on that except for LHs higher elites. That was not the case 10 years ago.
