Great, it seems that AS have programmed the rules correctly then if it managed to detect solely from scanning an AA boarding pass that you had an onward international itinerary and hopefully will be a lot more straightforward for me. Additionally I hope AS lounge agents are more well-versed with at least broader
oneworld rules now. Also hopefully there have been more BA Silvers/Golds that have hopefully been able to put this to the test! I'm travelling in October on a BA issued AS award ticket in Economy from PDX-SEA-BUR and hence the main reason for my query as I'd like to be able to access the N lounge for the first time as well as the PDX lounge.
