Always a pleasure to read your Singapore trip reports, with the excellent photography. I too am an Intercontinental aficionado and was there in May this year, when I was pleased to note that the buffet service is back in the Club Lounge. I did note that the carpets were pretty badly soiled and worn in places. I am going back for 10 nights next February and again for a couple of nights in June at the end of a trip to Penang. My only real gripe about my stay this year and it isn't the IC's fault, was the new development being built where the Shaw Tower used to be, was right outside my room window. I look forward to your review of Raffles. EDIT: I just noticed your review of first on the return. In May I went first both ways and found it pretty underwhelming. My seat was tatty, there was food on the lampshade and on the outbound there was no water in the tanks, so not even tea was available. On the outbound, my wife, sitting in 1A didn't get her choice of main course! On the return we were delayed 24 hours by an engine fault and I'm still waiting for compensation.
