now they have they'd also be able to sell some coach seats at full Y or B or M ... many last minute travellers will consider that - and even many biz folks whose company simply will not spring for $10,000.
Win, win for UA.
I'm guessing that they've sold all the coach seats they are willing to sell having already built in an assumption about all the people whose upgrades they plan to clear. So it's not clear to me that by upgrading some people now, they would release more coach inventory. It would simply give peace of mind to those who were sweating the upgrade situation. But this is purely logic, not at all based on fact.
