Booked a roundtrip business ticket Honolulu to Nadi on their website. Decided within 24 hours of the booking to go and see if I could change the ticket to outbound business return economy for a cheaper fare knowing I had the option to cancel the whole ticket and start anew if needed. The website offered me the opportunity to change the return portion of the trip to economy, stated I would be refunded and the amount, and then stated I had confirmed outbound business return economy as I wanted. The website also included the cost of the fare reduced from the previous round trip business. All good, right?

Nope.

Like a dog with a bone Fiji Airways refused to honor their website ticketing and stated my change was a "voluntary downgrade to economy" and "we do not owe you a refund of any sort."

I have filed with DOT because I believe their website was deceptive and cheated me out of the option for a cancellation at 24 hours by assuring me the ticket was changed and a refund would be issued.

Perhaps they set the website up for during Covid when they had different refund policies and have not yet fixed it????

So DO NOT trust the website if you change tickets to a cheaper fare. You aren't getting a refund. And their cancellation policy now is awful.
