I am currently traveling in Scotland, and had at one point made an award booking for the Residence Inn Aberdeen in 2 days, which I canceled weeks ago.
I logged into my Marriott account to check something else and saw there was an existing reservation for that hotel for that night, using a 50k free night certificate - which I certainly never made (the room was 15,000 points). I then saw I received an email at 4am this morning confirming this new reservation. (I was fast asleep.) The originally canceled reservation still shows under cancelled reservations. Seems unlikely someone hacked into my account as would be pretty random for them to make a reservation at the property I had originally been booked at the same night I booked it for? Do I need to be worried? Is there any point in me contacting Marriott about this or will they just tell me somehow this is my fault for existing?
