I'm not following the harsh responses to the Lurkers' post.
The only thing the property did wrong was fail to post 500 points. As the Lurkers' note, that can be resolved through follow-up.
It's also clearly stated in the T&C that any Guaranty claim has to be made while on property and that's pretty well known around here. Not that OP has such a claim here, since the property owes no breakfast obligation when the lounge is closed per specific T&C exemption.
There's certainly reason to be critical of Marriott for its continual watering down of benefits and giving specific properties (including this one) a complete "out" from the breakfast benefit, but those are broader topics perhaps best addressed in other threads (or by directing your business elsewhere).
