In addition to the good suggestions above, I suspect your bank will be very much aware of this issue, and while they probably won''t release the hold until it drops off in a week or two, they can give headroom on your account so that you are not impacted by the hold's impact. It's not unusual, the travel industry generally including hotels and car hire companies make copious use of holds.
