I was told when going to Philly that they do not wait until the non rev has boarded before they load the luggage and that my luggage would end up in Philly. Now I’m in Amsterdam and don’t know where my luggage is or how to get it. To top it off I’m leaving for Vienna this evening . Anyone have any suggestions??
You should be able to track your bags and find where they are by entering your record locator or bag tag numbers in the AA app. If you are lucky, your bags made it to Amsterdam, however, for security reasons, bags will generally not be loaded on international segments unless the passenger is also on that flight.
The Travel Guide cautions space available non-revenue passengers that they are responsible for retrieving their bags at the destination. Mishandled or late arriving bags must be picked up at the airport; those will not be delivered or forwarded.
For these reasons, experienced non-rev passengers travel with only carry-on bags and do not check baggage.
