They’ve upgraded to the base suite but not the highest suite possible with the SNA.
They have 19 of them available as I called. They keep on claiming that it’s Marriott Bonvoy that denied the request and the hotel keep on claiming it’s the hotel.
Its the hotel that can outright deny SNA requests in advance, not the 'system', and its the hotel that decides what type of suites they will put into the system. As for the normal processing at T-5 through T-1, that is Marriott's semi-automated 'system' that processes and confirms SNA upgrades or sends an email that it is still pending.
Or when it is broken, you get no notice or email or anything and the SNAs never clear and don't get returned unless you actively go after them.
Basically the system is a black box and Marriott and hotels point to each other when there are frequent problems with it.
