I am a bit surprised that this fare, which is still alive, did not get some more attention:
Star Alliance: NYC to Western Africa from $2,110
It may not be the most optimal out there, but it would definitely make an interesting trip while getting lots of PQP. It works from WAS too, though PQP is not quite as good as from LAX.
I think an ideal PQP routing, if P availability can be found, would be IAD-YYZ/YUL-ATH-BRU-ACC?-LFW/CKY/etc. Adding some North America connections could increase PQP and replacing Athens with a preferred stopover destination in Europe could lower PQP a bit. In the realm of 5k PQP.
