As a fellow Gold also looking for a Y->BP double RU, thanks for your report. I have watched availability decline down to C2 D0 a few days ago, and have been toying with just going for PE instead (good availability).
It is now 3 weeks out and a small jump up to C3 D2.
Seems a real pity that Y-BP upgrades are considered manually and after PE-BP. All while on an expensive B economy fare (policy).
Nothing cleared (BP or PE) in both directions AKL-LAX back in Jun (double RUs both ways).
Did you consider seeking Y-PE earlier?
I would have taken a seat in PE over Y for sure but wanted to go for the double. I wasn’t going to use these RU’s before expiry so no use banking them.
Tbh I’ve always had amazing luck with RU’s 2x Y-PE as silver (akl-lax & akl-nrt) and 2x Y-J as gold (lax-akl) and 1x Y-J gifted gold elite (akl - lax)
