The lounge at Mercure Sukhumvit 11 is now open and offers afternoon tea and happy hour so it's a major plus relative to Mercure 24 which does not have a lounge. Also, not only am I unsure about the willingness of Mercure 24 to upgrade to suites, but even if they did, the suite 45 sqm is about half the size of the suites at Mercure 11 (87 sqm). I received a proactive suite upgrade at Mercure 11 without asking.

For those reasons I now feel even stronger about my somewhat negative review of Mercure 24 than I did a few days ago considering what I saw of Mercure 11.

In fairness, Mercure 11 is more expensive than Mercure 24 (2.0k THB vs 1.5k THB) but if we can get a room more than triple the size at Mercure 11 than Mercure 24 plus lounge access for a mere 500 THB extra then it's a no brainer.

Anyway I will post a review of Mercure 11 separately rather than elaborate here.
