Some properties are quite nasty with denying SNA requests... and once they deny it you can't re-request. Best rate guarantee should not exclude you from being eligible, so sounds like the hotel did it on their own because they didn't want to upgrade you.
I’ve never had an issue at this hotel before and have never had a request denied 5 days out before and didn’t think it was actually possible.
They’ve upgraded to the base suite but not the highest suite possible with the SNA.
They have 19 of them available as I called. They keep on claiming that it’s Marriott Bonvoy that denied the request and the hotel keep on claiming it’s the hotel.
