I thought I would write back on the experience. Overall super impressed with Lufthansa. Major upgrade over our normal AA monopoly flights in CLT. The A350 is a really nice plane. The staff were super professional. They served beverages several times - which included free beer and wine. I am not a big pasta person but I have to say the pasta was definitely edible and would be equivalent to what you would get at a good work cafeteria. Bread was tasty as well. There was no offer to purchase snacks. There was no hassle on our carryons but the plane had many empty seats. I could see them needing to police on a full flight.
AA is in my opinion one of the worst airlines on almost every level *except their business class seat when travelling alone). Lufthansa will look very good compared to AA. But that does not say much.
