There are also the issues of conflicting information on the FN's exact expiration date - the Lurkers here clearly said the date is on the check out of a stay, i.e. the stay must be completed on that date - same concept of Airline travel credit, travel must complete on that date. That probably was the basis that Marriott expired those June 30th FNs on the day of June 30th versus July 1st.

Yet, somewhere on Marriott site, someone unearthed the languages on this, and it appears that the expiration date is the date you check in.

I encountered similar issue with Hyatt a few years ago. The reps gave conflicting answers on when the expiration date should be. To play it safe I chose to make the stay 2 days before the cert's expiration date. End of the hassle.
