We will need to collect luggage and recheck it, but it seems like we can't do this until 4 hours prior is that correct? I have a platinum card so have access to most lounges so the wait is not a problem, just trying to figure out the most efficient way to do this. I've always booked overseas flights on the same airline straight through and never had to do the re-checking in. Thanks in advance for any tips!
When I did something similar, I had flown in on Delta, so I waited in the Delta SkyClub until shortly before the SQ counter opened. I went down and collected my bag from the DL baggage services office (who had retrieved it from the belt) and then checked in with SQ. Of course, it's at your comfort level of leaving the bag in baggage claim for a while, but it worked well for me.
