Hi. Long time reader, first time poster. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed that more Marriott hotels are also charging cash in addition to points when trying to redeem a free night using points or a free night certificate.

I have noticed a lot of the hotels that I used to book only with points are now charging cash with points when I try to book them. They stopped offering a points only booking and stopped accepting the free night certificate.

Does anyone know what the Marriott policy is on hotels that stopped doing points only bookings and moving strictly to points and cash bookings? I feel like this is really devaluing points a lot.
