Not sure why you keep suggesting there's anything unique about that. There are quite a few properties around the globe that designate a junior suite as their base suite and won't give a true suite for Globalist upgrades. Hyatt doesn't crack down on them, either. Park Hyatt Paris has been doing this for over a decade now. One property (GH Berlin) went so far as to take its junior suite and put in a dividing wall, creating a special (and undesirable) suite just for Diamond/Globalist upgrades.
I too am somewhat fascinated by the continued angst this property seems to generate. Stay there or don't. There's certainly no basis for expressing surprise at their Globalist treatment.
