Isn't it compulsory to enter the country whose passport you hold with this country's passport? I.e., in case of OP, enter Canada with Canadian passport and enter UK with UK passport? And I guess in countries where there is both entry and exit control, better enter and exit with same passport to avoid any trouble down the road.... Just wondering...
