Dublin - short connection time and US Preclearance
Hi.
We (two adults) have an upcoming flight in early November, LHR-DUB-MCO, all booked via BA on a single ticket. Initially we had a connection time in DUB of just over 3 hours, which we were happy with as that should have given plenty of time to get through the US Preclearance facility.
AerLingus has now brought the DUB-MCO flight time forward, which leaves us with a 1hour 25minute connection time - assuming all goes to plan! Dublin airport suggests arriving for long-haul/US flights 3.5hours to allow for Preclearance. Would this also be the case for connecting passengers?
BA no longer seem to be offering our flight combination for new bookings, maybe suggesting that the minimum connection time is no longer valid? You can still book the LHR-DUB and the DUB-MCO legs separately, so neither appears full.
Assuming it is needed, should I expect BA to contact me to offer an earlier flight from LHR (there are multiple options), and if so roughly how long before our November flight should I expect this? Or would I be better off trying to contact them proactively to see if we can be moved? I have no status (Blue).
Thanks!
