Thank you for saying this. Before going I was reading all the online/magazine raves (including calling it the Venice and/or Valparaiso of the East) which didn’t live up to the reality at all once I got there. Just like you I found it extremely extremely overrated once I stayed there.

I stayed during the era of the Nam Hai - superb hard product but terrible service (they were trying so hard that it was actually annoying). Would be interesting to know if that changed with the FS taking over. Also personally I didn’t find the beach all that great.
