BinSabai Indeed upgrades vary widely at Accor hotels in Bangkok which is why I often like to stay only 1 night for my first stay to get a feel for what is their willingness to upgrade, and/or their ability to upgrade. If upgrades are unlikely for one reason or another, then I will know that hotel is probably a better fit for guests who are Accor Gold or below, rather than for Platinum+Diamond. If upgrades are generous, then I am more likely to come back for longer stays.

Coincidentally, I have Mercure 11 on my upcoming list so I will report back and compare with Mercure 24. Somehow it does not disturb me as much if the Accor Plus dining discount is unusable because the hotel does not manage the restaurant, rather than because they decide to keep it closed (and deny the discount on room service because the kitchen is open!) like Mercure 24 does.
