Hi flew Lhr -Sin -Mel last week. Upgrade offered a week or so out. Bid $1100 to move from Y to J on the A380 QF2 leg. Was surprisingly successful - advised via email within 24hrs of departure. Was happy with that. Also bid similar for the shorter A330 leg but was unsuccessful. So paid the GBP 65 and booked the aisle exit row extra legroom seat which was Ok for the 7 hrs especially with no neighbour on quite a full flight. Ticket wasnt particularly cheap - booked direct with QF- Y Lhr to Mel and PE via Syd to Lhr mid Oct = GBP 2750!
