Local SIMs are the best bet but this is great for transits and short visits where getting a local SIM is either a pain or just doesn’t make sense. I use it as my dual SIM secondary line so occasionally if I’m in a dead spot on the primary I can toggle and get data where I’m at. It’s generally a great thing TMO offers that the other big carriers don’t. If they could just get rid of the 50% rule it would be hands down fantastic.
The One PLUS international was double of the old ONE speed of 128kbps... which means you would get 256 at most... as far as I know. When you run out of your 5GB you can simply add a data pass from T-mobile or get an eSim from Airalo (if your phone does eSim/Dual sim). I've used T-Mobile and or Google FI all over the world with very few issues and will say it has been lifechanging. That said before they threw in the 5GB high speed for free, I would always buy the 15GB pass when I was on T-Mobile. With FI of course that wasn't necessary as you have basically 22GB (back when I used it) of high speed.
