Have you considered a "throw away ticket". Use it for your outbound and just not show up due to unforeseeable issues like illness, etc. Would that save you money if you book a RT and just not use the return?

Im sorry, I totally disagree. In fact, I have been back and forth to Beirut over the past 8 months (most recently Aug 6) and am traveling again Sept 5. No issues whatsoever, other than limited power in residential buildings, everything is cheap (if you exchange on the gray market and not pay with a credit card, outside of hotels where they charge in dollars).
