Single ticket YYZ-LAX-NAN questions re bags/boarding pass
Travelling next week on the above itinerary, 1 itinerary with 1 checked bag. 1st leg is on Air Canada, 2nd leg on Fiji Airways. I will pre-clear U.S. Customs & Immigration in Toronto. A few questions:
1. Am I correct in assuming my bag will be checked all the way through to final destination, so I don't have to pick it up in LAX and re-check it?
2. When I check in at YYZ, what is the likelihood of getting both boarding passes? I suspect I will be denied the 2nd boarding pass because Fiji Air in LAX will want to see passport, proof of vax, proof of Covid-19 travel coverage, and proof of pre-paid 72-hour Rapid test in Fiji, post-arrival. I have all documentation in order.
3. Upon arrival in LAX, assuming I don't have to pick up/re-check luggage, can I proceed from Terminal 6 to TB, airside? Or are there security checkpoints enroute that will deny me that access because I won't yet have a boarding pass for the 2nd leg?
4. If I am not able to proceed airside from T6 to TB, is my only other option to walk or take shuttle landside to TB? (Fiji Air is located in TB).
I have called Air Canada and Fiji Airways and their answers are inconsistent, contradictory and confusing. Oh dear, I'm a senior citizen struggling to make this work well.
