Interesting. A couple of differences in our experience:

1) she was not flying as a CP — it was a paid ticket for both of us.
2) I did check us both in, and I know I saw her boarding position #.

We did get a text when the CS agent cleared her from the waitlist and she got the C position.

The stories are similar enough that they could have been caused by the same underlying fluke. You probably don’t remember if there was an equipment swap that day?
