As always thanks for the help gin fizz.

yeah I have kept the flights, we are scheduled Manchester to Abu Dhabi on 23rd sept. Mother in law will then fly to Beijing on 28th and I’ll travel back to Manchester.

fingers crossed it all works out. I’ve actually worked out I can do both tests in Glasgow at different clinics as it is an early morning flight from Manchester.

Also hearing rumours from China that pre departure tests may be scrapped soon. Who knows.

In any case regarding the tests in the UK it is fine to take the first test in Glasgow and the second near the airport - but they do have to be within the required timeframe, specifically:
- the second test no more than 24 hrs before departure;
- the first test no more than 48 hours before departure;
- the second test at least 24 hrs after the first test.

Postal tests are not allowed - not least as this wouldn't work with the strict timings, and also as the exact time of sampling must be indicated on the test result certificate.
