I flew the AMS - RUH - DXB in April and it was okay. Very empty flight, which was nice in Y. You stay on board at RUH. For some strange reason (alcohol laws?) you just have to put any items purchased from the duty free shops in the overhead bins while on the ground. Some passengers hop onto the aircraft at RUH and do a RUH - DXB - AMS.
