No response and, unfortunately, the Android app situation is worse now. I upgraded my phone and the Amtrak app gets stuck after 5 seconds. It might be trying to populate all my trips on to the app but it freezes after a few seconds. Uninstalling, clearing data/cache, etc., doesn't fix it. I can still log into the website via the phone so not worried about getting stranded.
I guess I find it mind boggling that the tech can be so bad here. Like others have said, these issues have been going on for a decade, at least (a quick Google search also confirms it). I'm not in the tech field so I don't know how or who steps into a large company and has the ability to make an overhaul.
Very annoying indeed! I wonder if there is something about your use pattern that implicates some sort of edge case? Because I have had absolutely no problems at all with the Android app for at least a year. Before that, I couldn't use the app to pay for tickets at all with my credit card & needed to pay using the Web site...
