SAS is well know for plating restrictions meaning not allowing some of their flights to be booked on another carrier's ticket stock or if allowed only at very expensive fares.

Consider splitting into two ticket with an overnight in between to provide protection on delays. (just price to see if it reduces the cost)
or
Book the whole trip on the SAS site as UA does not have the some restrictions
or
Try Google flights, instead of UA

The lack of a UA filed fare to remote destinations can also be an issue.

Note plating restriction usually do not apply to award tickets.

Are you booking cash one-ways, that will force high fare classes on many cases.
