I was chatting about this a few weeks ago with a bmi purser who's a good mate. It appears bmi hoped to get both BOM & BLR routes ex LHR. (3 times a week to BLR, and 4 to BOM). And they would rotate a A330 from LHR between BLR and BOM.
And now the spanner in the works appears to be that BA have got those 3 BLR routes. I guess they could consider one LHR-MAN flight on the 330 to reposition the aircraft*. And then use it ex MAN to fly to the Caribbean or where ever. Or in the worst case, they could use the 330 on the ever packed LHR to Leeds/Inverness runs.
*I can imagine the weekly thread titles already:
"Will me BD 58X be on the A330" or
"I was scheduled to get the 330 on my LHR-MAN but I didn't. Can I ask for compensation/vouchers" etc etc etc
