That's strange. I booked an MFU SYD-LHR one way last year and was registered in UK at the time.
Once past my BAEC home page BA gave me the option booking ex SYD and there was no problem. Even billed me in GBP.
And I just did a dumy booking TPA-LGW no problem. Even billed me in GBP (which is a shame seeing as the Dollar is entering the Winter Olympics!!)
