Was exploring some JL flights to SE Asia recently and it makes me wonder why JL scheduled the connections time to all be super tight. Most connections through NRT to SE Asia seem to be between 1-1.5 hours only.
I was a bit weary about booking something due to such tight connections, but it sounds like JL is pretty used to it and is prepared to handle inbound delays.
Frankly I'd prefer these relatively short connections, with the implicit assumption that they'd hold connections in both directions as long as the inbound delay is not extreme, over a longer 2-4 hour connection. If JL or NH had nicer lounges in NRT (they're perfectly serviceable, just rather vanilla and nothing great like CX's lounges at HKG), I might prefer a longer connection and look forward to some time in the lounge.
