Just got home and found a package in my mail from AC - included is a small lapel pin in the shape of an aircraft tail with the new livery on it, a 16 x 10 inch poster of a newly-painted 767 in flight, and a 12-page, full-color glossy booklet detailing variouis aspects of the "New" AC.

Of special note (in my mind, anyway) is the what I believe is the first mention on FT of AC's apparent intent to install a live TV system on its aircraft.

In a section titled "Now That's Entertainment!", there is an overview of the IFE rollout to come, and a bulleted list includes the points:

- Air Canada will choose one of three vendors for the new IFE system - Matsu****a, Thales or General Dynamics. (Whichever system is chosen will be installed in all planes).

- Intl. Flights will feature about 40 movies in eight languages. Domestic / TB will feature about 20. Audio options will number about 50.

- Interactive games and "several" channels of live TV will be on offer.

- Embraers and Bombardier 705s to come with IFE built-in, everything else to be retrofitted. Exec Class will have armrest-mounted monitors; Y will be seat-back.

Lots of great nuggets in this booklet... I may stop by a Kinkos and scan it for uploading on my mileage run this weekend.
