Strange Etihad fare policy (RBD) regarding date change
Hi all,
I have a flight in Business with EY and would like to change the return flight from 20th to 25th Sept.
The fare policy clearly states that "IF ORIGINAL RBD IS NOT AVAILABLE THEN ANY FARE DIFFERENCE SHALL APPLY".
Meaning... If I book in the same class (say D to D), although it is more expensive, no difference shall be paid. (??)
Called Etihad and they want to charge me $1,000 for the higher fare although the class is the same, stating that "FARE BASIS" is different....
But I know for sure that RBD = "booking class" which is not the same as "fare basis"...
Anybody have an opinion on this? I don't mind paying if I have to but I just can't seem to find a justification anywhere in the fare policy.
