It depends. Sometimes it’s quicker to go through security and the tunnel, sometimes it’s quicker to walk through the public area of the terminal and go through A security.

I believe SQ arrivals from JFK are treated as ‘clean’ and can board the same aircraft again (obviously from the same B gate) without re-clearing security if continuing to SIN. I think those eligible can visit a lounge. But I’m not sure how those with connecting flights from other concourses are treated.
