Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Horrified at first, then mostly ok after the move.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a king suite for 4 and I didn't do enough research. The HI Ocean City is a dump that should be burned to the ground. Do not stay here. It isn't even in a condition that would pass fire inspection. The sprinkler in our room was rusted through and falling apart. The hallway carpeting smelled of urine, the bathtub was permanently stained, the sofa bed was falling apart. I think it was the worst hotel room I've ever seen. So we went back to the front desk and they called up their sister HI down the road and they kindly opened a room for us with points.

The HI and Suites Ocean City is the best HI I've seen in the US. If it were a CP it would be the best CP I've seen in the US. Good service and breakfast too. We got a corner suite with a jacuzzi and a sofa bed for the kids.

But all was not well in that I had to call IHG to make the switch because it was an award reservation. IHG had me on the phone for 45 minutes saying they would take care of everything. And at the last minute they said it would cost more than double the points of the first reservation. 118K points for a HI! I said that they had to make it up to me for selling a room that was illegal and unhealthy. We risked Tetanus just walking into that dump. They put me on hold again for 5 minutes and then just hung up! I called back and of course had to re-explain it all again and the person took my number and promised to call back. Of course they never did.

At check out they said it was all taken care of. I looked at my account and saw nothing new there. Then I checked again and found they took 118K points without my permission. And they haven't refunded the original points which was 56K. So I have some following up to do with IHG.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Ocean City is a zoo in the summer. Some things were fun, but I think I probably won't return ever again in August.
