I have 7K Asia Miles and a few hundred Miles and More Points as during Covid points expired.
For my upcoming and future flights I presume I should book to either KrisFlyer or Miles & More as they're both Star Alliance?
Any reason to pick one or the other?
Sorry for the dumb question.
Not a dumb question at all
Based on the information you have provided, I would suggest LX MM over KF. As you are based in CH, you might be likely flying non-Asian routes on LH group where SQ definitively would not be an option.
Where KF might make sense is if you were flying SQ exclusively in J and F to the extent you would be able to become PPS. In that event, you would be able to "double dip" and gain miles with MM at the same time, potentially earning you Senator status on top (for "free" in essence). However, if you find yourself in premium cabins of LH group often, where you might have a shot at HON status, MM would be your best bet.
If flying Y/PEY mainly, I would collect the miles on MM and pursue MM status, should your travel patterns permit it.
Hope this makes sense.
Here is a
link to a discussion on the relative merits of HON circle v SQ's PPS / PPS Solitaire (which are the most elite tiers as part of their KF program) if you were based in DE should this be of interest or relevance to you.
