Yes, exactly. When you check in, tell the clerk that you are there for multiple nights on separate reservations and they will "merge" them. It is to the hotel's advantage. as well as yours, to keep you in the same room for the entire stay.
Another advantage of single night reservations is that you can easily cancel the first or last night if your plans need to change a little.
