Is there a reason to book main cabin if Plat Pro status and is it far fetched to think that booking the cheapest flight of the day makes any sense? I wouldn't do this for a weekend trip but will be there for several weeks. I wouldn't benefit from extra LP flying on a more expensive ticket since the 30 segment rule for awards will be my rate limiting factor.
I play this game frequently with the early-bird flight out of DFW. If I can’t get SDFC, the consolation is that it’s been easier to score an upgrade, at least in most instances.
