New to Plat Pro and was thinking of booking the least expensive BE on a January Saturday ORD to MIA where there are many non-stops daily. Ideally I could do a same day flight change so as not to arrive at 12:20A but could do that and would be a >40% savings over booking a more desirable time upfront. Is there a reason to book main cabin if Plat Pro status and is it far fetched to think that booking the cheapest flight of the day makes any sense? I wouldn't do this for a weekend trip but will be there for several weeks. I wouldn't benefit from extra LP flying on a more expensive ticket since the 30 segment rule for awards will be my rate limiting factor.
