Typically “dirt” cheap Lufthansa flights are not upgradable via PlusPoints. You can use United online and specify fare class as part of your search.
Good to know -- I am way too rusty to get back into the game just like that. Covid has had me grounded since March 2020, previously 1K, now my PQP balance is like 2.000 or so with 1.500 courtesy deposit.
This flight is for next week actually, MUC-SAN-MUC nonstop for $656 / $756 (Basic/Eco). I need some muscle to help build a shed and my dad is retired and just twiddling his thumbs. Booking the same itinerary in Q would get me to $1,370 and no guarantee for an upgrade.
